While exploring Asgata we came across Sayious Adventure park and it didn’t take much convincing for us to decide that we were definitely going to spend the morning there and we are so glad that we did.

We decided to do the Off road buggy tour and then some go karting and finish off with archery…. The boys were in heaven.

Our first stop was getting all the safety gear on. Overalls, mask, helmet and gloves…. It was a hot day, however we still felt comfortable under all of this and it was nice to see that they had so many different sizes so we were all fitted properly.

There was a brief training on how to drive the Off road buggy (you need to have a drivers license) and then we were off.

The start of the drive is easy which gives you a chance to practice and also get confident.

Along the way Andreas would stop off at points that showed views, some all the way to Mari…. And then, came the good stuff! It was so much fun and the boys loved it.

Around halfway we swapped kids (there may have been one of us that was faster than the other) and then we carried on.

Andreas even let the boys have a go at the front of his quad bike which the boys loved.

The time of the whole journey was perfect…. Enough time to really get confident, be challenged, see some great views and enjoy some of the terrain and at no point were we bored.

Back at Sayious Adventure Park we had some refreshments and this was when Elena found out it was Fletcher’s birthday. So she came out with a cake (the cake may have already had a slice cut out of it but it is the thought that counts) and got everyone (including some other people that come to enjoy the adventure park) to sing Happy Birthday to him. It was so sweet and thoughtful. The thing that really stood out for us was how we felt like we had been welcomed into a family… it wasn’t a business, they generally loved getting to know people and also going above and beyond what they needed to do. It isn’t like you are on a conveyor belt… there is no rushing.

After the refreshment we went down to the Go Karts. At the time that we were there they had a smaller Go Kart which was perfect for the boys. The boys could only go one at a time and Andreas walked next to them the whole time – making sure they didn’t go too fast or lose control. You see, these are proper Go Karts… that have a lot of power. So Andreas wanted to make sure that the boys knew what they were doing and didn’t get hurt. After 5 rounds of the track, the boys knew what they were doing and he let them go around by themselves. Now this track isn’t big and if the boys did start to go a bit fast, Andreas was on them with a “Slow down” and the boys were able to hear him and did it straight away (don’t you love it when your children actually listen and do what is asked of them straight away? Never happens when we are asking them…. It has to be someone that is not their parent!!!!)

Once both boys had a turn, it was time for the parents… this was so much fun…. We were allowed to do this together and it may have got a bit competitive and one of us may have spun out a few times…. Okay okay A LOT. This Go Kart track is on loose gravel so there is a lot of drifting techniques to be used and let’s just say…. From what we saw that day…. One of us may have had more practice of this in our teenage days!

Our next activity was archery. There were two sizes…. Kids size and Adults size. Weirdly, the boys were really good at this and we were ahhhh not the best. In fact one shot may have missed the whole target/hay bale. Unfortunately there were no Katniss Evergreen in the making that day… but there was a lot of fun had with the garden games such as Jumbo Jenga and Noughts and Crosses.

I would say we spent a good 4 hours there and made some good friends as well. It was sad to leave but we had other places to explore in Kalassasos so couldn’t spend the whole day there…. Although this could be done very easily.

The boys were especially very excited with the motorbikes and Enduro tours…. Luckily for us, they were too young.

We honestly had the BEST time, it was totally worth the money and this is something the boys still talk about now (can be a little annoying at times). Our recommendation would be to book first (we were really really lucky) and make sure you have the whole day free as there is so much to do and enjoy as well as getting to know Andreas and his fab family.
